ME&A recently collaborated with the USAID Water Team and the World Bank to plan and coordinate a learning event on Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) for the Water Sector.

More than 150 U.S. Government and World Bank staff attended this day-long session on February 23, 2012, which featured presentations on innovative mapping and mobile solutions that support development goals and new standards for transparency and accountability in water programs worldwide. In collaboration with USAID and the World Bank, ME&A also invited industry experts for small-group clinics where participants learned how to maximize the use of mobile phones, mobile internet access and social media tools for improved water resource management and citizen engagement.

The event was organized under the U.S. Government-World Bank MOU on Water, signed on World Water Day, March 22, 2011, by U.S. Secretary of State Clinton and World Bank President Zoellick.
