ME&A is
awarded the USTDA IQC for Conferences, Workshops,
Orientation Visits (OVs), Training and Other Events
USTDA is charged with promoting
environmentally sound, sustainable economic development and
trade with middle-income and developing countries. The
agency’s mission is to help U.S. companies position
themselves to successfully compete as suppliers of goods and
services for major capital projects; to serve U.S. trade and
foreign policy objectives by mobilizing U.S. technical
expertise; and to maximize access to U.S. private sector
expertise on the part of middle-income and developing
nations.
This IQC is an expansion of
the scope of work of previous IQC’s including the current
one, which concentrated on the provision of conferences and
orientation visits. These two services continue their
central role in carrying out USTDA objectives. However, two
additional services, training and outreach are added because
USTDA has recognized the importance of transferring
knowledge to recipient nations as an integral part of the
assistance they provide. Likewise, outreach activities will
enhance the awareness of both domestic and overseas decision
makers and other target audiences of the role that USTDA
plays and the services it provides.
